About Dr. Evie
Eating disorder therapist in North Carolina
Hi! I’m Dr. Evie DavyRomano.
I’m passionate about helping women break free from self-criticism, quiet the inner noise, and build a life grounded in clarity, self-compassion, and confidence.
In particular, I have a heart for supporting young women on their journey to overcoming an eating disorder or disordered eating. I also love supporting those who are suffering from anxiety, depression, perfectionism, poor body image, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, or past traumas.
Throughout my years in practice, I have learned that eating disorders do not discriminate—I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and older women from different backgrounds and across all body sizes/types, including college athletes. Eating disorders are complex illnesses that often mask other problems that need to be addressed. Therapy is a space to uncover these root issues, gain insight into unhealthy coping behaviors, and catalyze positive change.
Maybe the stress of your life is overwhelming you, you’re trying to gain some control in the midst of a life transition, or you’re doubting your worth and value. Whatever you’re currently struggling with today, you don’t have to manage it on your own. It is possible to lead a life that isn’t dominated by fear, anxiety, despair, or control. Asking for help is hard, but it can make a world of a difference. You deserve to experience freedom, fulfillment, and joy in life.
Because you matter.
I understand that therapy is risky—taking this step puts you at risk of losing old ways of coping, facing reality, and dealing with the discomfort that comes with change, but it also provides you the option of getting better. If you’re willing to take these risks, then I want you to know that I see your brave vulnerability. I believe in your resilience and inherent worth, and I know you have the strength to overcome your challenges. Therapy can help you cultivate a life of greater clarity, inner calm, confidence, and self-compassion. It would be an honor to support and empower you to make the changes you want in your life.
A Little About Me
I was born and raised in Miami, FL and then my family moved to a suburb of Atlanta, GA when I was starting high school. After college, I lived in China for a year teaching English before going back to get my Masters. I have also lived in Illinois, Indiana, and now finally North Carolina. I love spending time outdoors, caring for my indoor plants, watching UGA football (Go Dawgs!), running, interval training, and reading for fun. I also love watching my daughters play sports, exploring NC, hiking, and playing with our adorable mini-golden doodle puppy.
